FAQ
BOOKING & AVAILABILITY
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 10 to 16 months ahead, particularly for peak season dates between May and October. If your date is sooner, reach out — we occasionally have availability for shorter lead times and will always let you know what's possible.
How do we reserve our date?
Once we've spoken and you'd like to move forward, your date is held with a signed agreement and a retainer. Until both are in place, the date remains open to other inquiries.
Do you travel for weddings outside of Toronto?
Yes — Lian Studio is available for destination weddings worldwide. Travel-related expenses including flights, accommodations, and meals are covered by the couple and arranged in advance of the wedding. We're happy to discuss the specifics during your consultation so there are no surprises on either side.
PRICING & PACKAGES
What does wedding coverage cost?
Wedding coverage at Lian Studio starts at $2,500 and is quoted based on your day — the hours, location, and what you need. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all pricing; every proposal is built around your specific wedding. Reach out to start a conversation.
Will there be one photographer or two on the day?
Your wedding is led by one primary photographer, with the option to add a second shooter for additional coverage — ideal for larger weddings or venues with multiple simultaneous moments. Occasionally, we may bring a second photographer to assist; if this happens at our discretion, there is no additional charge to you.
Do you offer engagement sessions?
We do. Engagement sessions are available as a standalone booking or as an add-on to your wedding package — and couples who book both together receive a discount on the engagement session. Beyond the portraits themselves, they're genuinely useful — it's a chance for us to work together before the wedding, so the day itself feels easy and familiar.
WEDDING DAY COVERAGE
How many hours of coverage do we need?
It depends on the shape of your day. Most weddings are covered in 8 to 10 hours, which allows room for getting ready, the ceremony, portraits, and the reception. We'll talk through your timeline together and recommend what makes sense — exactly what you need, never less than your day deserves.
What happens if it rains?
Rain is just another kind of light. We've worked in every condition and come prepared. Some of the most striking portraits happen on overcast or rainy days — the softness and mood are genuinely beautiful. We'll adapt the plan as needed and keep things moving.
Do you help with the wedding day timeline?
Yes — and we'd encourage you to lean on us here. A well-built timeline protects the entire day, especially the moments you care most about. We'll offer guidance on timing for portraits, light, and transitions, and we're happy to coordinate with your planner or venue if needed.
EDITING & DELIVERY
How many photos will we receive?
The final gallery reflects the full scope of your day. As a general guide: 6 hours of coverage typically yields 400–500 images, 8 hours 600–700, and 10 to 12 hours 900 or more. Every image delivered is edited in our signature editorial/documentary style.
When will we receive our photos?
Your completed gallery is delivered within 4 to 8 weeks of your wedding date. We take the editing process seriously — this is not something we rush. You'll receive a private online gallery, downloadable in full resolution.
What does the editing process look like?
Every image is individually edited for light, tone, and atmosphere — consistent with the visual language you saw when you chose to work with us. We do not offer preset-swapping or heavily altered styles after the fact, which is why we encourage couples to connect with our work before booking.
EXPERIENCE & APPROACH
What is your photography style?
Documentary at its core, with an editorial eye. We're drawn to natural light, quiet moments, and the way a day actually unfolds — not a version of it that's been arranged for the camera. When portraits are needed, we direct with a light hand, keeping things genuine rather than posed.
We're not comfortable in front of a camera. Is that okay?
It's more common than you'd think, and it's part of what we're here for. Our approach is intentionally low-pressure — we're not asking you to perform. Most couples find that within the first hour, they've forgotten the camera is there at all. That's exactly where we want you.
How do we know if Lian Studio is the right fit?
Start by spending time with our work — not just the highlights, but the full galleries. If what you see feels like what you want, we're likely aligned. From there, a short consultation call usually tells us both everything we need to know.
